What is _kx?
What _kx ties together
Klaviyo pairs email and SMS marketing with Shopify, BigCommerce, and other DTC commerce stacks. _kx is the URL-side token Klaviyo uses to bind a click back to the specific subscriber it sent the email to — the join lets Klaviyo's tracking attribute the eventual purchase to a particular subscriber-record.
Same identity-bound shape as the other per-recipient email IDs (mc_eid for Mailchimp, mkt_tok for Marketo, _hsenc for HubSpot). Different vendor, same risk profile.

Frequently asked
Is _kx identity-bound?
Yes — per-recipient. Joins back to Klaviyo's subscriber record, keyed to the subscriber's email or phone.
Where does _kx show up most?
On outbound links from DTC e-commerce email and SMS sends — Klaviyo dominates that segment. If a Shopify store emails you a promo, _kx is the token tying your click back to your subscriber profile.
Clean tracking on iPhone, in one tap.
LinkClean strips ~80 vendor-specific tracking parameters from any link, from any app's share sheet — and preserves functional ones like hl, t (YouTube timestamp), and q (search). No account, on-device.
